Get involved

Looking to get more involved in the CoPsy community as an undergraduate? Explore opportunities to join research labs, attend talks and colloquia, and gain experience as a teaching assistant.

There are many ways to get involved beyond the classroom—whether through research, attending department events, or supporting courses as a teaching assistant.

Research Opportunities
Work alongside faculty and graduate students on cutting-edge research in cognitive and psychological sciences. Getting involved in a lab is a great way to apply what you’ve learned in class, gain hands-on experience with research methods, and prepare for graduate study or future careers. To explore research opportunities, see the updated spreadsheet below, browse UTRA postings, check job opportunities in Workday, and visit individual faculty webpages (which are often the most up-to-date).

Talks & Colloquia
Our department regularly hosts brown bag discussions, seminar series, and invited colloquium talks. These events are open to undergraduates and offer the chance to learn about new discoveries, hear from leading researchers, and connect with the broader scholarly community.

Teaching Assistantships
Serving as a teaching assistant (TA) is an excellent way to deepen your understanding of course material while building teaching, communication, and leadership skills. TAs help support faculty and fellow students, gaining valuable experience that can strengthen both academic and professional pathways. To explore TA opportunities, please check out Workday. We also recommend checking out the University's guidelines for Undergraduate TAs here
