Cognitive and Psychological Sciences

Departmental Undergraduate Groups (DUGs)

DUGs foster a sense of community within concentrations by organizing events and activities to connect students with peers, professors, and alumni, as well as explore concentration and career opportunities. CoPsy houses three DUGs for their concentrations: Behavioral Decision Science DUG, Cognition DUG for Cognitive Neuroscience & Cognitive Science, and Psychology DUG.

What do DUGs do in CoPsy?

  • DUGs host various events such as study breaks, faculty meet-and-greets, panels, workshops, and thesis celebrations.
  • They also participate in Concentration Declaration Day, welcoming students into the CoPsy community.
  • While not officially peer advisors, DUG leaders often engage in peer advising and hold advising events - assisting first- and second-year students explore various concentrations and enabling concentrators to explore potential career opportunities related to their disciplines.

Students interested in joining a DUG should contact current DUG leaders or the Director of Undergraduate Studies. DUG leaders are accessible resources for both concentrators and those simply interested in exploring a discipline.
