Biography
Leslie Welch received her Ph.D. in Vision Sciences (physiological optics) from University of California, Berkeley, in 1990 and completed her postdoctoral work at University of California, San Diego. She came to Brown in 1992 where she is now an Associate Professor in the CLPS department. She is also affiliated with the Center for Vision Research and the Carney Institute for Brain Sciences. Her research is concerned with visual perception or how your eyes and brain figure out what is in the world of light. More specifically, her research focuses on motion perception, space perception, and how different kinds of visual information interact to result in our perception of the world.
